Haiti Relief Message From Terry

We are all aware of the devastation that has taken place in Haiti.  Know that we, as a church, continue to monitor this situation.    We are partnering with Samaritan’s Purse in their Haiti Relief efforts.  This is the organization we worked with for Operation Christmas Child.  I have first-hand familiarity with their operation as a result of travelling with them to Kenya and Sudan.   I have been in contact with Kirk Nowery, who is the right-hand man to Franklin Graham, asking how we can specifically respond.   Right now, the greatest need is in financial support.  

On Sunday, January 17th, we announced that we would be accepting donations every week for the next month and that The River would match all donations during that time.   Thank you to everyone who has sacrificially given, over and above regular tithes and offerings, to support the men, women and children of Haiti.  

You donated $5,000 in just the first week; and in the one month that we, as a church, committed to match your donations, we collectively raised a total of $23,444 to support relief efforts in Haiti.

On behalf of the suffering people of Haiti, we thank you for your prayers and support, and we want to share with you what God is doing through the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse.
