Hospitality
Calling all Iron Chefs! Our Hospitality team provides Sunday breakfast backstage for the people who arrive early to make The River Experiences happen. You can serve as often as you would like.
Time: Varies
Resource Center
Do you love great books and music? Our Resource Center in the lobby sells Christian books and CDS, along with t-shirts and more!
Time: Once a month on Sunday
Lobby Setup/Tear Down
Want to make a difference behind the scenes? The Lobby team sets up and tears down the tables, chairs, and indoor signage on Sunday mornings to create a great experience before you even enter the auditorium!
Time: Once a month on Sunday
Welcome Center
Are you interested in telling new guests about The River? Our Welcome Center is the hub for general information about The River and upcoming events.
Time: Once a month on Sunday
Traffic Team
Want to be the first face guests see when arriving at The River? The Traffic team makes sure traffic runs smoothly on busy Sunday mornings and assists people in need into the building. We also put up the flags and outdoor signage.
Time: Once a month on Sunday
Ushers/Greeters
Got paper and pen? The Usher and Greeter team welcomes guests into the building, distributes programs and pens, escorts people to their seats, and collects the offering.
Time: Serve as often as you would like!
Medical Response
Are you a medical professional, or simply trained in First Aid/CPR? The Medical team at The River is equipped to be first responders on premises in the event of an emergency. Anyone with First Aid/CPR training can serve.
Time: Once a month on Sunday
Coffee (STARBUCKS™) Ministry
Probably the people’s favorite ministry! Our Coffee team serves fresh Starbucks coffee every Sunday morning before our Experiences begin. This team is looking for volunteers to help set up the coffee table and clean it up after the second experience
Time: Once a month on Sunday
River Office
If you are a good organizer or have the ability to type, or even like to help clean up we could use your help at the River’s main office in Highland.
Time: Varies, as needed.
Communications/Marketing
Writer
Sometimes we need a clever, creative writer to create copy for our event mailers and website.
Time: Varied, at most 1-2 hours a week.
Distribution Team
Are you the kind of person people can’t say NO to? Then we need you to help get posters up and invites out to the community for things like Christmas, Easter and Superbowl!
Time: 4 times a year for our big events!
Special Events Ministry
If you are the one everyone says to “Hey! when are you throwing your next party?” we could use you on our Special Events team. Use your party-throwing skills to help with Super Bowl, Beach Baptism and the Fall Fest!
Time: Varies, as needed.

Music Team
Guitarist
We are looking for a talented electric/acoustic guitar player to play once a month at our weekend experiences. Audition required.
Bassist
We are looking for a talented bass guitar player to play once a month at our weekend experiences. Audition required.
Keyboards
We are looking for a talented keyboardist to play once a month at our weekend experiences. Audition required.
Staging and Ambience-
Builders
Each message series we construct a new set for the stage. We are looking for builders and anyone who can assist with the construction.
Time: A few hours once a month
Setup
A dedicated team of people set up the stage so it looks cool for our weekly experiences. We are looking for more people willing to set up the stage once a month. No special skills required, and this can also be an opportunity for families with children in 6th grade or older.
Time: Saturday evening and/or early Sunday morning once a month
Timer
Help the stage direction and the experience director, this includes striking stage positions and communicating to the speaker how much time is left in his message.
Time: Required to serve both experiences; one a month.
Backstage
Wearing a headset, you will listen to requests given by the experience director. She will instruct you when to lower or raise the house lights, get the singers, actors, and speakers "on deck" and when to go on stage.
Time: Required to serve both experiences; one a month.
Graphics/Power Point Team
PPT Operator
We are looking for someone to run the Power-Point in our Sunday Experience.
Time: One Sunday a month, both Experiences.
Arts/Drama
Writers
We write about 70% of all dramas presented from the stage. Please submit a 2-3 minute sample script (monologue or dialogue) to Yvonne Ozerities.
Actors
If you would like to learn more about serving on our drama team please contact Dee Crownover to set up an interview/audition. Wide age range welcome (16 +)
Time: varies. Script deadlines 3-4 weeks prior to experience. Drama rehearsals 1 week prior plus the Sunday morning of.
Men’s Ministry
Event Planning Team
River Men needed for planning special events such as Wild Game Dinner, hiking, and rafting trips. All that's needed is a desire to help and have fun.
Time: Varies according to the event.
Women's Ministry
Lobby Table
Serve at the welcome center (selling event tickets, info for upcoming events, etc...)
Time: Sundays, once a month or more; before, in between and after the Experiences.
Quarterly Newsletter Editor/Creator
Help compile articles on women's events and studies into a quarterly women of the river newsletter.
Time: 4 times a year. some computer skills needed.
Event Planning Team
Women needed for planning special events such as yearly outreach event, Easter Egg Hunt, etc. All that's needed is a desire to help, serve, and have fun.
Time: Varies according to the event.
Sports Ministry
Athletic or not it doesn’t matter but if you love sports we need you! Help out with hockey, softball, flag football, golf and more!
Time: Varies by season
Student Ministries
Life Group Leader
Middle school and High school ministries are both looking for individuals/couples interested in hanging out with a small group of students in a casual, relational setting.
Time: 1 evening per week.
Mentor
Middle School and High School ministries are looking for individuals/families interested in coming alongside individual students in a one-on-one relationship.
Time: Varies based on needs and schedules; ideally at least weekly (very unscripted and unprogrammed by design).
Children's Ministries
River Rock Small Group Team Leader
Build relationships with 6 - 10 kids in River Rock, everything you need is supplied for you.
Time: 1 hour twice a month
River Rock Large Group Team Drama
Help share stories through drama to the River Rock Children.
Time: Varies
River Rock Ambience Team Set-up and Decor
Help set up the River Rock stage area and hallways to make River Rock a child friendly environment.
Time: 1/2 hour before 1st experience and/or 15 minutes tear down after second.
River Rock Tech Team
Tech person runs sound equipment, lights or power point.
Time: once a month during experience
River Rock Band/Vocals
Have a special musical talent, play a musical instrument or sing, please share your talents with the children in River Rock. Audition required.
River Rock Fun Station Team
Help prepare the fun station area with crafts, games and hands on activities for children to "fun" before going into Large Group.
Time: 1/2 hour before 1st experience and gathering supplies and games during the week.
River Rock Administrative Team
Help The River Rock team laminate bible verses, get small group supplies gathered throughout the week, and make copies at the River office.
Time: About 1-3 hours a week.
Hospitality Team
This team brings a breakfast for the setup teams for River Rock and Precious Pebbles.
Time: Once a month before 1st experience
River Rock Special Event/Outreach Team
Help plan and implement outreach events for the community; parades, park gatherings, etc.
Time: Varies
Precious Pebbles Small Group Leader
Supervise and interact with preschool children; assist with crafts and small group activities that are provided for you.
Time: 1 1/2 hours during either Sunday morning experience; 1-4 times per month
Set Up/Tear Down Crew
This is the team that gets the classrooms ready for the experience by setting out tables, moving storage carts, moving desks, lifting toys out of the carts and hanging hallway signs. The tear down team puts it all away.
Time: Sundays: 7 a.m.-8 a.m. for set up or 12 p.m.-1 p.m. for tear down; once a month.
Welcome Center Registration Team
Welcome and register new families to Children’s Ministry, assist in a smooth check-in/check-out process. Time: 30 minutes before each Experience
Administrative Asst.
Assist Children's Ministry Director in the office with General administrative projects.
Time: about 2 hours every other week
Security Team
Help keep our children safe by checking tags, monitoring the hallways, and notifying parents when their children need them
Time: 1.5 hours per month
Precious Pebbles Large Group Leader
Lead Discover Island with DVD-driven curriculum, including songs and lesson
Time: Varies
Precious Pebbles Small Group Administrative Team
Copy and organize coloring pages and craft supplies for small group time

Compassion Ministries
If you have a heart to make a difference for those who are hurting; then Compassion Ministry is a great way to take that first step to reach out to others. Opportunities run the gamut to fit wherever you might feel led.
You can “BE THE CHURCH” by volunteering on the team, or help organize the Christmas store, or coordinate trips to Grace Center for Hope, or simply deliver a meal to a family in need.

Pray with staff prior to the Sunday experiences.

River Prayer Team
We pray with individuals who need prayer following the experiences. This team also prays daily for the needs of the church and those who request and need prayer.

LOVE
Welcome Newcomers
Do you have a passion for new people at the River? Help us greet them at the Welcome Center lobby table, with our quarterly Newcomers reception or with a welcome phone call.
Time: Sundays, once a month; before, in between and after the Experiences. As much as you want for the Newcomers Reception, or calls as needed no more than 1 hr. a week
LOCK
Encourage people to get connected and find their niche at the River. Help them find a Life or Growth Group that fits them. Follow up to see how they like their serving ministry and what they are doing.

Do you like making others feel special, valued, and loved? We are looking for people to support volunteers that serve at the River. Follow up to see how they like their serving ministry and what they are doing.
